ALWAYS EATING WELL, LIVING WELL, BEING WELL
It all starts with a conscious decision..
Hi beautiful soul! Wondering what is intuitive and mindful eating? Intuitive eating is a way of eating that has nothing to do with diets or meal plans but more about getting back to your roots and learning to trust and listen to your body again. Allowing yourself to become aware of the positive and nurturing opportunities that are available through food selection and preparation and in the same time by respecting your own inner wisdom while breaking the cycle of chronic dieting. Mindful eating is also a way to fully connect with your body using all your senses in choosing to eat food that is both satisfying for you and nourishing your body. In short: intuitive and mindful eating is what we should call normal eating. More of a behaviour focused instead of restrictive or rule focused nutrition.
The decision to help your body reach its full potential
Your body will tell you what it needs if you really pay attention to it, without categorising foods as “good” or “bad”. You can eat whatever you want without feeling guilty and consciously restore a healthy balance in your body. It's absolutely your own choice. Healthy eating means eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good and have energy. These nutrients include protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals. And Mother Nature is providing everything that we need in various forms whether that is plant based, meat, vegan or vegetarian.
Our body is our greatest teacher and when is experiencing physical and/or mental distress in any capacity, is your body's cry for help.
My personal choice is plant based intuitive and mindful diet which is focused on whole, minimally processed foods, with limits of animal products (in particular avoidance of red meat and pork). A diet that loves plants, including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, seeds and nuts. This change has helped me restore the balance in my body, increased my self-esteem levels, optimism and general well-being, reduced the emotional eating behaviour and simply is making me feel fantastic! My body is grateful and I am now very attentive to its signals. A lesson I have learned in the Amazonian Jungle.
